About the app
When is Case & Cocoa launching?
Summer 2026. If you'd like to be notified, send us a line at the email below and we'll add you to the pre-launch list.
What platforms does it run on?
iPhone and iPad, iOS 17.0 or later. Android support arrives in month 4 after launch, once the iOS version is stable.
Does it need the internet?
Case & Cocoa needs a connection to fetch each day's new mystery (roughly a few kilobytes) and to sync streaks with friends. Once today's case is loaded, you can solve it offline. Your journal and companion customization work without a connection.
Account & sign-in
How do I sign in?
Case & Cocoa uses Sign in with Apple only — no password, no email. When you tap the sign-in button, iOS asks if you want to share your name. We use that name as your in-app display name (you can change it in Settings later). We never receive or store your email.
Can I change my display name or companion later?
Yes. Tap the gear icon on the Today screen to open Settings, where you can change your display name and the hour you receive your daily reminder. Tap your companion on the Today screen to rename them, change their outfit, or redecorate their room.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings in the app and tap Delete Account. This removes all of your data from our servers, purges your iCloud records (if Cozy Pass sync was enabled), and wipes the app's local storage on your device. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Cozy Pass (subscription)
What does Cozy Pass include?
- 30-day case archive — replay anything you missed
- Weekend double-cases
- All companions, outfits, and room decor
- One streak-freeze token per month for the days life gets in the way
- Journal export as PDF or printable book
How much does it cost?
Cozy Pass is $4.99/month, $29.99/year (with a 14-day free trial on first purchase), or $59.99 forever as a one-time purchase. Prices shown are in US Dollars; Apple converts to your local currency at the time of purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
All subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → Case & Cocoa → Cancel. Or from within the app: Settings → Manage Subscription opens the same screen directly.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and find your Case & Cocoa purchase. If Apple needs additional context, you can email us at the address below and we'll write a letter of support.
I bought Cozy Pass but the app still shows the free tier.
In the app, open Settings → Restore Purchases. If the problem persists, force-quit and reopen the app (swipe up from the bottom on iPhone, then swipe Case & Cocoa off the top). If it still isn't resolving, email us with your Apple ID country and the approximate purchase date — we can usually fix it within a business day.
Playing the daily mystery
When do new mysteries arrive?
A new case is published at 5:00 AM local time every day. If you solve today's case and want another, Cozy Pass gives you access to the previous 30 days of cases to replay.
I got the wrong suspect — can I try again?
Each day's case gets one submission. After you submit, the solution is revealed. You can always replay the case from your Journal, but the streak and solve-time are locked in at the moment of submission.
My streak broke even though I played every day.
Streaks use UTC days, not your local day, so travel or unusual hours can occasionally produce a gap. If you believe your streak broke in error, email us with your display name (or the handle shown in Settings) and the approximate time of play — we'll take a look.
What's a streak-freeze token?
Cozy Pass subscribers get one freeze token at the start of every UTC month. If you miss exactly one day, the token is automatically applied and your streak continues. Multi-day gaps will still reset the streak; freeze tokens don't stack.
Friends & privacy
How does the friend system work?
Friend connections are opt-in and invite-only. Generate an invite link in the Friends screen, share it with a specific person, and they become a friend when they redeem it. There is no username search, no public profiles, no open chat — just shared streaks and a small set of emoji reactions.
Can I block or remove a friend?
Open the Friends screen, tap the ⋯ next to their name, and choose Remove friend. Both directions of the connection are deleted; they won't see you on their list anymore either.
What data do you collect?
The short answer: the minimum we need to run the app. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell data, do not serve ads, and do not track you across other apps.
